IMMT Hotels (1)

Can anyone give me an idea of what hotels are available and their costs for the Mont Tremblant area? I am debating between doing IMLP again, or IMMT. The hotel situation could seal he deal for me, not looking to get raped in Lake Placid again if I can avoid it.

Not sure if its rape when its concentual. I got a place just outside race village for 3 nights for a total of 500 per room. Race morning will be interesting as many roads will be closed, especially after the start. These issues will matter more to my GF and family. Just about everything is a 3 night minimum. In race village, I was quoted 1500-2000 total for 2 bedroom condos. How does that compare to LP?

Last year I paid ~$200/night for a 1 bedroom suite at the Country Inn and Suites (now called Le Kandahar) that had a full kitchen and balcony. Could have paid much less without the kitchen. It was a 1 minute walk to the transition area.

How far in advance did you book? I booked months ago and those rooms were gone.

I forget exactly but it was a long time, probably close to a year. I also kept checking on prices and rebooked at least once or twice at a better price.

For 2014 IMMT, I reserved a queen bed, suite with a full kitchen for 5 nights for $1,300 at the La Tour des Voyageurs which is right at the transition area and finish A quick, easy one phone call event. No money down and up to 14 days before the event to cancel without any fees. Try doing that at Lake Placid.

It appears more hotel choices in Mont Tremblant. How about the restaurant prices? I’ve done IMLP 2x and may take a crack at IMMT in 14. LP hotels/condos are way overpriced and I even think the prices for dining and stuff are too. How about family stuff at Mont Tremblant?

i’ve done imlp 4 times and did immt last year. we are going back to immt for a few reasons in addition to the obvious- beautiful, challenging course, etc. we found lodging to be MUCH less expensive then lp. we usually rent a condo and we got a 2 bedroom condo for 10 days for the amount we would spend in lp for a 1 bedroom condo for 1 week. also, our 10 year old daughter felt there was so much more for a kid her age to do during the race compared to lp. don’t get me wrong, we love lp. in fact i’m in lp right now as i cheered, volunteered and trained during this year’s race, but for value and family activities, immt can’t be beat. i actually just booked the condo for next summer. i know lots of people have mentioned this, but a really nice feature of immt is that the community truly is supportive of the race. you will love it and i don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you book as long as it’s right for your needs. for a hotel we like the homewood suites, but we find a condo to be great and i go through vrbo or homeaway. good luck!

Wife and I have a 4 night stay in a 1 bedroom condo at Cap Tremblant Mountain Resort for $692 and can stay a fifth night for no additional charge. Found this through Orbitz well in advance of race day (November 2, 2012). Seems like a good deal.

hey…make no mistake…I’ve never heard anyone describeTremblant as an inexpensive place to visit …shops, golf, restaurants etc $$$…BUT you will never get gouged on accomodations to the same extent as you will at Placid -its almost criminal the nightly rates at some of those shit boxes in Placid. Due to supply and demand factor - just way more rooms/condos available at Tremblant it’ll always be cheaper place to stay. I’m booked into Tours des Voyageurs overlooking the finish line. Yeah baby!

^ what shady said.

At IMLP 2011 we stayed at Schultes. Nice location on the course, but $900 for 5 nights in a complete dump. This time I booked 4 nights in a suite at Tour de Voyageurs, a little over a grand, with the works. Nothing about Tremblant is cheap, but it’s not the gouge fest of IMLP.

Reading this thread got me to book tonight so I can get the room and hotel I wanted for 2014. Lol.

I got double queen for 5 nights at Marriott which includes wifi and breakfast for $1600 all in. Includes kitchenette. I stayed here for MT70.3. Hotel staff was really nice. Breakfast was pretty good for it being free. Menu changed a bit each day. 2min walk to transition and finish line. Next door to medical building and registration. Has an outdoor pool and hot tub. Great for family.

Anyone have experience with the Westin there that they’d be willing to share?

Thanks!

Bumping this up…just wondering, which is the nicest hotel in the village?? If one doesnt need a kitchen, and lets say the price diff isnt a concern, which is the best?
I was thinking of booking at the westin, but just read a bunch of bad reviews online, torn furniture and carpet, etc.
Ive stayed twice at the Country Inn and it was nice, in fact, seemed nicer than some of the others based on the reviews ive read…
So are any really nicer than the Country Inn?

We stayed there for the 70.3. It was very nice, service was good. Not the nicest Starwood property or Westin we’ve been, too, but the suite was large and clean. Decor was perhaps a little dated and definitely “used” but we had no complaints at all. Location can’t be beat. Just a few minutes walk to transition but we liked having some “distance” so it wasn’t IM 24/7. We plan staying there for the full IM next summer.

Heard from one of the staff at Ermitage du Lac that the Westin is going to be totally renovated this fall.
